Commission disposes of 55 cases of missing persons

ISLAMABAD, Oct 11 (APP): The Commission of Inquiry on Enforced
Disappearances has disposed of another 55 cases during month of September in proceeding held at Islamabad, Quetta and Lahore.
The Commission comprising the former Senior Judge of Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Javed Iqbal and Mr. Muhammad Sharif Virk, Member, is conducting proceedings of the case of Enforced Disappearances regularly with the assistance of Law Enforcing Agencies
for tracing out the missing persons.
Proceedings of the Commission are being held at Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Quetta periodically.
On 1st Jan, 2011, 138 cases of Missing Persons were pending. During the period of 1st Jan, 2011, to 11th Oct, 2013, 1192 new cases were received in the Commission: enhancing the total number to that of 1330 out of which 528 cases have so far been disposed
off and current balance of the cases under investigation is 802.
The Commission of Inquiry of Enforced Disappearances is committed and
determined to make all out efforts to trance the Missing Persons.
