Pak, US officials discuss preparations for Nawaz’s US visit

Islamabad, October 14 (Online): High ranking officials of Pakistani and American, Monday, discussed preparations for the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to US.
They also discussed the ongoing peace and reconciliation process for Afghanistan in special perspective of post 2014 situation.
U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan (SRAP) Ambassador James F. Dobbins along with US envoy Richard Olson held a detailed meeting with Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz here and reviewed current state of bilateral ties between Pakistan and US.
According to as press note issued here by the Foreign Office, matters relating to Pakistan-US relations and the situation in the region were discussed in the meeting. Both the two sides focused on preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit to Washington later this month.
The note stated that views were also exchanged on the Afghan peace and reconciliation process as well as issues related to Afghanistan post-2014. Dobbins was accompanied by US Ambassador Richard Olson.
In the meantime the US embassy stated that James F. Dobbins after a series of meetings with senior Pakistani leaders concluded his visit. The embassy said that while here in Pakistan, Dobbins discussed U.S.-Pakistani relations, regional security, and Afghanistan with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Advisor to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
