WB to assist Pakistan in promotion of education

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (Online): The World Bank has shown consent to provide technical assistance for education in Pakistan.

This was revealed during a meeting between Minister of State for Education‚ Training and Standards in Higher Education Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman and the World Bank Sector Manager‚ Education and Human Development Department of South Asia Region‚ Amit Dar in Islamabad on Friday.

The selection of programmes and projects and parameters of this assistance will be set in next follow up meeting of World Bank with focal person of the Ministry.

During the meeting the State Minister expressed his keen interest to work on Early Childhood Care Education and improvement of quality Education‚
devising the new criteria of standards of education for the new entrants at university level and technical education especially facilitating the technical diploma holders by Prime Minister Youth Development Programme.
