NADAR issues free CNICs to quake victims of Balochistan

ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (Online): National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) has been issuing free of cost computerized national identity cards (CNICs) to the earthquake affected people of Balochistan.

On the special directives of Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, NADRA has made special arrangements to help quake-victims of Baluchistan in obtaining CNICs free of cost, a NADRA spokesperson said here on Saturday.

NADRA has processed approximately 968 CNICs in lieu of fresh and duplicate cards free of cost to the quake-affectees on emergency basis. NADRA has been continuously supporting the government in conducting relief and rehabilitation activities for the past seven years.

Our team have reported that NADRA has mobilized its 4 x mobile registration vans (MRVs) in quake-hit areas of Baluchistan to provide affectees an opportunity of registering themselves for CNICs.

While highlighting the authority’s efforts, it is further informed that special teams from the neighboring districts have been formed under the supervision of concerned regional heads to closely monitor these activities.

NADRA staff has been working on war footing to reach out to quake victims and are working at a stretch without any holiday. 2 x Mobile vans remained operational even during the eid holidays and processed the ID cards for the affectees.
