Police performance report in Karachi operation presented in SC

KARACHI, Oct 30 (Online): Sindh government has filed police performance report in Karachi operation in Supreme Court (SC) Karachi registry during the course of hearing of implementation of SC verdict in Karachi violence case.
As per report overall 6840 accused were arrested during the operation from September 5 to October 27. Police conducted 4857 while CID conducted 339 raids and made arrests. 359 encounters took place with criminals during the operation and police arrested the culprits. 41 accused persons were killed.
The accused arrested during the operation include 97 in murder and target killing cases, 688 in terrorism, 37 in extortion of money, 30 in kidnapping of ransom, 476 in robberies, 1308 in illegal arms and narcotics cases, 219990 proclaimed offenders and 2359 absconders.
The report said the pre operation situation reflects that 330 persons were killed in target killings, 10 in robberies, 33 in personal enmity and 17 in bomb blasts during July, 21, 2013 to September, 4, 2013.
The post operation period witnessed a marked change as only 139 persons have been killed in target killings, 14 in robberies, 50 in personal enmity and only 2 in bomb blasts from September 5 todate.
