Protest against drones: Hafiz Saeed demands end to Nato supply

ISLAMABAD, November 01 (Online): On the appeal of Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) ‘Protest Day’ was observed Friday across the country against drones strikes by the US over tribal areas of Pakistan.
Pungent demonstrations were held in all major cities including provincial capitals Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Quetta besides federal capital Islamabad.
Processions, rallies, conferences and seminars were held and khateeb delivered emotional speeches in Friday prayers.
Condemnation resolutions were passed against drone strikes and masses were apprised of drone attacks brutally killing thousands of innocent people of the country.
JuD demonstrated the biggest protest in Chuburji Chowk in Lahore, in which, students, lawyers, traders, members of civil society and people from all walks of life participated.
Protesters on the occasion were holding placards and banners and chanted slogans against the US and drone strikes.
Speaking to the gathering, Ameer JuD Hafiz Saeed has demanded of the government to inform the US that it should stop drones if wants safe exit from Afghanistan.
“All accords with US regarding strategic partnership have ended after first drone attackâ€, Hafiz Saeed mentioned.
He suggested of the government to issue directives for shooting down drones and closure of NATO supply.
“US wants to take revenge from Pakistan of its defeat in Afghanistan through drones,†Hafiz Saeed said.
JuD Chief vowed to start movement against drones and to perform duty of safeguarding Pakistan by organising the movement in every nook and corner of the country.
Besides JuD Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Fareed Ahmad Paracha, Maulana Abu Al-Hashim, Muhammad Idrees Farooqi, Qari Sana Ullah Farooqi and others addressed the gathering.
The speakers demanded of the government to stop NATO supply if US not stop drones.
