PTI tables resolution in Punjab, Sindh assemblies against drone attacks

Lahore/Karachi/Peshawar, Nov. 4 (Online): Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf on Monday tabled a resolution in Punjab and Sindh assemblies in retaliation to Thursday’s US missile strike in Pakistani tribal area that killed Taliban chief and derailed government’s planned peace talks with militants.
Meanwhile, PTI's rival JUI-F tabled similar resolution in Khyber Pakhtunkhw Assembly.
Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed tabled resolution which said US recent drone attack has sabotaged peace talks with Taliban. The resolution also demanded to halt Nato supplies for US-led forces in Afghanistan.
In Karachi, PTI also tabled similar resolution in Sindh Assembly which stated that NATO supplies must be stopped and remain so till such time that the federal government is able to stop drones and give a clear commitment about the efforts for structured dialogue for peace.
JUI-F's Lutufur Rehman tabled a resolution in PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhw Assembly. JUI-F lawmaker demanded provincial assembly to stop NATO supplies saying that US drone attacks boost terrorism in the country.
Mehsud, along with at least four other militants, was killed when a US drone targeted his car in the North Waziristan. He was one of the most wanted and feared men in Pakistan with a $5 million U.S. bounty on his head, leading an insurgency from the Taliban stronghold.
Imran Khan, whose Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rules the KPK, has vowed to block US supply lines into Afghanistan in response to the US attack.
The PTI leadership has had coalition parties’ support for the resolution to halt the supply route which the PMLN-led government is unlikely to close, sources said.
