Pakistan contributes $ 1 million to typhoon affected Philippines

Islamabad, Nov 19 (Online): Pakistan Tuesday announced one million $ as contribution to relief efforts for the calamity hit areas in Philippines.

Foreign Office spokesman stated that the people and the Government of Pakistan were deeply grieved by the tragic loss of life and wide spread damage to the property caused by super typhoon Haiyan which hit central Philippines on 8 November 2013.

Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry stated that to express solidarity with the people of the Philippines, the Pakistan had announced US$ one million as contribution to relief efforts for the calamity hit areas.

Earlier, the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan in their messages of sympathy assured the President of Philippines, Benigno Aquino that Pakistani nation will stand by with the people and government of Philippines in this hour of need.
