Imran Khan appeals nation to remain calm

ISLAMABAD, Nov 19 (Online): Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan Tuesday appealed the nation to remain calm and not fall prey to the designs of those deliberately fanning sectarian hatred and violence across the country.

He said this while attending victims of Ashura violence in Rawalpindi hospital on Tuesday; he added that it has once again become clear that it is the innocent citizens who are always hapless victims of these hate and violence agendas.

Khan appealed to the Ulema belonging to all schools of thought to put out the fires of sectarian hatred and restore peace, tolerance and understanding which epitomize the spirit of Islam.

Khan also called on all the political leaders to also proactively seek to restore normalcy and move people away from falling prey to the designs of those who seek to weaken Pakistan and damage Islam.

Chairman PTI pointed to the loss also of billions in terms of destroyed shops and markets and a halt to normal economic activity in the country.

He called on the PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to play a proactive role in bringing back religious harmony and calm in the province by reaching out to all the Ulema and political leaders.

“Those who were inciting people to sectarian violence were enemies of Islam and Pakistan”, PTI chief mentioned.
