Action against drunk drivers: Police demand alcohol screening instruments

ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (INP): The traffic police have demanded preliminary alcohol screening instruments from the Interior Ministry to curb the practice of driving after drinking in the federal capital.
The police also sent recommendations to the ministry to make laws in this regard.
According to police sources, the letter sent by acting SSP Traffic Asmattullah Junejo containing the recommendations of Inspector General Islamabad Sikandar Hayat states that sometimes police come across drunk drivers but fail to take proper action due to lack of relevant law. Therefore, law pertaining to driving after drinking in need of the hour, it states.
