LHCBA resolution against ‘Single person’ trial of Musharraf

LAHORE, 26 Nov (Online): The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has adopted a resolution against single-person trial over treason of former President Musharraf only.
The resolution tabled by advocate Muhammad Ahsaan Wayne advocate accords full honors to LHCBA for its continuous struggle against dictatorship, and support for upholding Constitution, democracy, and law: while also stressing that Constitution did not advocate trail of a single person, convicted of treason, while leaving others untouched.
The LHCBA has stressed that Article 6 ( 2) of Constitution , holds even conniving persons as equally guilty of treason , hence the coup of 1999 should be treated as the beginning of treason, and fully added to the case , instead of merely limiting the treason case from a distant 03rd Nov, 2007: thus entailing the consideration of other elements like associate generals, and even Supreme Court judges who fully endorsed the 1999 coup, and even cleared a safe passage for former dictator President to make amendments in Constitution.
