Six dacoits arrested; weapons and ammunition recovered

ISLAMABAD, November 26 (Online): Crime Investigation Agency of Islamabad police has busted a notorious gang involved in several dacoity incidents and recovered
two 30 bore pistols, 32 bore revolver and ammunition from them, a police spokesman said.
Acting SSP Islamabad Muhammad Ilyas constituted a special team following the directions of IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat to ensure arrest of criminal elements involved in dacoities in areas adjacent to Sabzi Mandi and Industrial Area.
This team headed by DSP Basheer Ahmed Noon including
Sub-Inspector Mansoor Ahmed, ASI Abdul Hafeez, Ameer Sajjad and others worked hard and succeeded to bust a gang of dacoits. The gangsters have been identified as Ch. Bilal alias Bila, Kamran Bhatti, Bilal, Khawaja
Majid and Malik Fawad.
During the preliminary investigation, they confessed their involvement in several incidents of dacoities in the area of Industrial area, Sabzi Mandi police stations and also in Rawalpindi.
They also admitted to loot pedestrians at gun point and then used to speed away on their bikes. IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat and Acting SSP Muhammad Ilyas have
appreciated this overall performance and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for members of police team.
They have also directed for accelerating efforts against those involved in criminal activities and ensure their arrest.
