Inflated price of dry fruits leave poor in pain

QUETTA, Nov 27 (Online): The price cap for dry fruits as winter increases has created hurdles for the poor.
According to reports in Quetta Tola Ram Road is famous for dry fruits. During winter the roadside stalls are decorated with dry fruits causing watery mouths but when passers by ask the price then dry throats are felt.
Once sold for 800 rupees per kilogram (kg) the Pista is now sold at a price ranging from 1,200 to 1,600 rupees per kg. Almonds are being sold for not 6 but 700 rupees per kg. Pinus gerardiana (chilghosa) once sold for 800 rupees per kg is now sold for 2,000 rupees per kg. Cashews is sold at 1,100 rupees per kg. Raisin is available at 300 rupees per kg. Coconut is sold at 500 rupees per kg.
The traders claim the rise in price is because of a rise in the price of dollar.
