Culprits involved in Rawalpindi riots will be presented before ATC: Rana Sanaullah

LAHORE Nov 28 (Online): Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Thursday that the miscreants involved in the Rawalpindi riots would be presented before Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) and the court would announce its verdict in few weeks.

Addressing a press conference here in Lahore, the provincial law minister said that cases related to the Rawalpindi sectarian clashes will be heard in anti-terrorism courts.

“Appropriate action will be taken against those found guilty,” he added.

He thanked religious scholars, civil society and media for playing a positive role in creating harmony after the incident.

“The government is following reports of the fact finding committee and the culprits will soon be dealt according to the law”, he said.

He told media that a meeting was summoned in the Punjab Assembly to discuss law and order situation and local bodies’ elections in the province.
