50,000 Personnel to Guard Balochistan LB Polls

QUETTA Dec 5 (Online): Home Secretary Balochistan Asad Gilani has said that more than 50 thousand security personnel would be deployed to maintain peace during local bodies polls on Dec 7.

Addressing a joint press conference with provincial election commissioner and secretary local bodies, he said 2776 polling stations had been declared as ‘most sensitive,’ and 1581 declared as ‘sensitive’.

He further said that some 5000 Pakistan Army troops would remain alert to meet any exigency.

Provincial election commissioner Syed Sultan Bayazeed said there would be no polls in Awaran and Turbat, as candidates there had already been elected unopposed.
