LG polls: Voting peaceful in Balochistan, says CEC

QUETTA , Dec 7 (Online) - Acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Pakistan Justice Nasirul Mulk said that voting in Balochistan was in progress in a peaceful way.

He said while addressing media during a visit to Postal colony polling station on Saturday.

The acting Election Commissioner said he would visit all polling stations of Quetta, adding that any issues during the polling will be immediately resolved.

Referring to the issue of Harnai where polling had not begun as yet, the CEC said the Commissioner Sibbi is going to Harnai to meet the candidates and resolve the issue.

He said District Returning Officer Harnai is being changed.


Media reports also stated that polling at Municipal committee ward number 19 was also not started as yet.

Voting for local bodies in Balochistan started early morning at 8:00AM in most districts of the province today.

According to details, over 17,000 candidates are contesting against 4,168 seats. The Election Commission has established 5,715 polling stations while 11,847 booths have been setup across the province.
