ISLAMABAD, December 18 (Online): The process of verification of thumb impressions has started in Quetta as well after Lahore and Karachi.

Orders were issued by Tribunal No 1 to NADRA at Quetta for verification of thumb impressions on the application of 4 candidates for provincial assembly polls but the matter was referred to central election commission office after PML-N and other political parties expressed mistrust on the judge of tribunal.

Sardar Sharjeel Khan Tareen, Pushtoon Khawa Milli Awami party candidate for provincial assembly seat from PA-214 charged Sardar Dur Muhammad Nasir, from PML-N with indulging in rigging.

The election tribunal Quetta directed NADRA two months before for verification of thumb impressions. The requisite amount was also deposited in connection with verification process. But the tribunal referred the matter to central election commission of Pakistan for the reason that the rival candidate had raised objection that he had no trust on judge of tribunal.

There are three other constituencies in Quetta wherein petitions had been filed seeking verification of thump impression by NADRA. However no decision has been given so far in these three cases.
