Libya willing to enhance bilateral cooperation with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, DEC 19 (Online): Chargé d'Affaires of Libyan Embassy Abdul Wahid Abo Gaila, Thursday, said that Libya looked to expand the level of bilateral co-operation with Pakistan as per the desires of the leadership and people of both countries.

Talking to reporters here he said that the Libyan Embassy in Pakistan was looking to inaugurate its Consulate in Karachi for about six months and waiting the approval of Pakistani Foreign Office with bated breath.

He said that because of growing demand of Pakistani labor in Libya, the Libyan government has decided to reopen its consulate in Karachi to facilitate Pakistani labor in getting visa easy through transparent system.

To start Libyan consulate in its owned building in Karachi the government of Libya has appointed Mr. Mabrook Dulfo as Consul General in-charge, he is also waiting for the approval to resume his duties.

Libyan Charge d 'Affaires replying to a question said that officials of Pakistani Foreign Ministry, particularly in African Division has promised to complete sooner all the necessary procedures to reopen the Libyan Consulate in Karachi.

He further affirmed that this step will help people of Sindh, Balochistan and Southern Punjab to obtain Libyan visa from Karachi without traveling to Islamabad.

Mr. Abdul Wahid extended his thanks to Honorable President of Pakistan Hussein and Pakistani government officials, who always in there meetings with him, expressed their desire to expand the cooperation Between Pakistan and Libya.

On the Libyan side he said that the Libyan Government values its longstanding ties with Pakistan and wishing to promote its co-operation in economic, political and other fields to promote mutual cooperation as the Libyan government gives the importance to the Pakistani labor contributing in reconstruction of Libya.
