Pak-UAE Speakers agree for increased parliamentary interaction

ISLAMABAD, Dec 26 (INP): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that Pakistan and United Arab Emirates enjoy close fraternal relations which are deep rooted in shared history, culture, and heritage. Pakistani leadership and its people value that bond of fraternity and look forward to expand cooperation with UAE in diverse fields.

These views were expressed by the Speaker during a meeting with Mr. Mohammad Ahmad Al Mur, Speaker of Majlis Watani Itihadi, House of the Federal National Council UAE, according to a message received from UAE.

The Speaker said that government of Pakistan strongly desires to promote friendly relations with all the countries particularly neighbouring states. He said that Pakistani leadership and its people acknowledge UAE’s contributions and cooperation for the development of Pakistan. He congratulated the UAE Government for winning Expo 2020 bid and viewed that it would be beneficial not only for the UAE but also for the whole region. He stressed upon the need to foster unity among the Muslim Ummah for progress and prosperity.

The Speaker said that interaction between parliamentarians of both the countries could bring both the nations more closer. He apprised the UAE Speaker about the formation of Pak-UAE Friendship Group in National Assembly of Pakistan. He also invited the Speaker of Majlis Watani Itihadi to visit Pakistan along with a parliamentary delegation. He viewed that exchanges could provide an opportunity to the parliamentarians from either side to exchange views and experiences.

Speaker of Majlis Watani Itihadi, Mr. Mohammad Ahmad Al Mur said that UAE also values its relations with Pakistan and wants to further enhance the existing pace through parliamentary interaction and economic cooperation. He said that the present government in Pakistan is moving in the right direction and would succeed in restoring peace and tranquility in the country. The Speaker of Majlis Watani Itihadi said that Pakistan holds bright future keeping in view its vast natural and human potential. Paying tribute to the founding father of Pakistan, the UAE Speaker said that Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah was a great visionary leader who visioned Pakistan to be a moderate, democratic, peaceful and prosperous country.
