LAHORE, Dec 27 (INP): Punjab local bodies elections were challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Friday here.

The petitioner has made a plea that the LB elections should be put on hold until the decision on the delimitation issue.

Advocate Azhar Siddique in his petition took the stance that the holding of LB elections before the decision on delimitation would be unconstitutional and in contravention of the basic human rights.

It is further prayed in the petition that section 10-A of the Punjab Local Government Act 2013 be declared void and LB elections be put on hold until the decision on delimitation issue.
