QUETTA: The weekly meeting reviewed the pace of work on the Quetta Road Project here the other day.
The Additional Commissioner Quetta, Muhammad Qasim Mengal chaired the meeting, which was attended by Director Development Quetta Division, Muhammad Arif Baloch, Divisional Engineers, Abdul Rahim Qambrani, Project Director, besides the representatives of different departments and civic agencies including Quetta Metropolitan Corporation, Quetta Development Authority, Water and Sanitation Authority, Quetta Water and Sanitation and Environmental Improvement Project, Communication and Works, Sui Southern Gas Company, Quetta Electric Supply Company, PTCL and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the Additional Commissioner directed to the concerned authorities to expedite the pace of work on the sewerage nullahs and ensure its timely completion as it would help raise the living standard and resolve other civic issues in the metropolis.
He stressed on the need to expedite the pace of work on the roads and sewerage nullahs maintaining their quality.
He said that no leniency and negligence would be tolerated whatsoever in this regard particularly in view of the inconvenience being caused to the general public due to the non-completion of the development work.
He also directed to the Metropolitan Corporation to submit a detailed report on the permissions granted for cutting of road in the city during last three months so as to make arrangements for their repair.
He also directed to make alternate arrangements for traffic during construction work on Quary road and Jan Muhammad road.
He also issued directives to complete immediately the construction work on the Brewery road and Arbab Karam Khan road so that the public may not suffer any more.
He also directed to use extra manpower and machinery to expedite the pace of work in the rush areas of the city
