Two killed, 9 hurt in overnight Karachi violence

Karachi, Jan 19 (Online): At least two people were killed and nine others injured in overnight firing incidents and cracker attack, officials said on Sunday.
According to police officials, some unidentified miscreants lobbed a cracker bomb at a restaurant located in Qasba Colony, where eight people sustained wounds in the powerful explosion.
The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment.
According to police sources, a youth, on the way to attend the valima reception of his brother, was gunned down in a robbery attempt near Nursery Stop on Shahra-e-Faisal. The youth, Shoaib Nawab died on the spot and his father Javed Nawab was hurt in the incident.
Gulistan-e-Jauhar also overnight became a scene of a street crime in which a man lost his life for resisting against the offence.
