Blast leaves 22 security personnel dead, 25 wounded

BANNU, Jan 19 (Online): At least 22 thirteen security personnel were martyred and 38 others injured as a powerful bomb went off near a Frontier Constabulary (FC) Convoy on Sunday morning.
According to media reports‚ the security forces convoy move up and down Miranshah in North Waziristan from here every Sunday after clamping curfew in the areas and a convoy as usual proceeding to North Waziristan was attacked by a remote control bomb near Aamandi Chowk, Razmak Gate on Bannu-Miranshsh Road here.
Security forces have cordoned off the area, while rescue and relief operation continued.
Sources said that the death toll might further increase as the blast occurred with a big bang heard far and wide in the town.
It is pertinent to mention that a convoy comprise of normally 25/30 vehicles.
The security forces have cordoned off the area and shifted the injured to CMH Bannu.
President Mamnoon Hussain, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan condemned the blast.
