BUJ holds protest demonstration

QUETTA Jan 20 (PPI): Journalists staged demonstration to protest killing of three staffers of Express News Channel in Karachi and bid to abduct Bureau Chief Al Jazeera in Islamabad in front of Press Club here Monday.
They shouted slogans against terrorists and security of journalists. They also announced three day mourning.
Addressing on the occasion President Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) Irfan Saeed and President Quetta Press Club Razaur Rehman said that journalists stake their lives and come to the field for discharging their professional obligations. Whatever hurdles terrorists create in our way, we would continue our mission.
They said with the advent of 2014 five journalists have lost their lives while discharging their professional obligations in the country.
They said government has failed to provide security to the journalists. Terrorists threaten them but government did not take any step for their security or arrested any of the killers. They said BUJ was struggling for security of journalists. Boycott form assembly proceedings and protest demonstration bore fruit and provincial government announced to constitute judicial commission to probe killings of journalists and payment of compensation to their heirs.
Journalists leaders said they wanted to make it clear upon terrorist forces we would not leave our responsibility in any case whatever and how many acts of terrorism they carry out.
