National security projects top priority: Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD, Jan 22 (Online): The Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has said that the present government would ensure timely provision of funds on top priority to strategic projects of the country so that they can continue their work smoothly without any interruptions for further strengthening national security.
He made these observations during a meeting with Director General Lt. Gen (R) Khalid Ahmad Kidwai and Lt. Gen. Zubair Hayat, who called on him this afternoon to discuss issues pertaining to Strategic Planning Division (SPD).
The Finance Minister was apprised and briefed about the current status of some of the important projects that SPD is currently pursuing with detail of financial outlays.
During the meeting certain procedural and inter-departmental coordination issues also came under discussion. The Finance Minister directed the relevant authorities to improve inter-departmental harmonization and resolve all procedural issues expeditiously.
The meeting was attended by Advisor to Ministry Rana Asad Amin, Chairman FBR Tariq Bajwa, Secretary Planning and Development Mr. Hasan Nawaz Tarrar, Shahid Mehmood Additional Secretary External Finance and senior officials of the Ministries of Finance, Revenue Planning and Strategic Planning Division.
