PM, Army Chief visit Southern Command Headquarters

RAWALPINDI/QUETTA, Jan 30 (Online): Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, Thursday, visited Headquarters Southern Command here.
Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Nasir Khan Janjua gave a detailed briefing on Balochistan security situation.
Briefing was attended by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Senator Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Abdul Qadir Baloch, Hasil Bizenjo, Governor Balochistan, Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik, Chief Secretary, IG FC Balochistan, IG Police, and DG ISPR and other senior civil and military officials.
Prime Minister appreciated the role of security forces in helping bring normalcy in Balochistan and directed both political and military leadership to devise joint strategy to ensure peace in the province. Prime Minister also stressed on the need to accelerate development projects in the province to bring relief to people of Balochistan.
Earlier Prime Minister laid wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to acknowledge the contributions of Shuhada of Army, FC and Police who laid their lives to defend motherland.
