ISLAMABAD, 06 Feb (Online): Federal Minister Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had outlined the policy of supporting the Afghanistan peace process

Talking to the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, Mr. Hiroshi Inomata who called on him on Thursday, he further deliberated that post-2014 situation in Afghanistan situation was uncertain and laid emphasis on greater coordination between all the stakeholders.

Nisar further deliberated that this drawdown was set to create a vacuum that would be very difficult to fill; since the earlier situation involving more than 130,000 foreign troops had failed to control the situation in Afghanistan.

“The entire onus in the circumstances would then be on the Afghan forces who would face a very serious challenge in this situation, whence no allies would be available for Afghan powers , necessitating Pakistan to reach out to all the forces there”, he opined.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also reiterated government’s resolve of not allowing anyone to use Pakistan's soil against any body and is committed to resolving the menace of terrorism and militancy once and for all, no matter what it takes.

He also lauded Japan being always a friend of Pakistan who has always played an important role and has a keen interest in the economic development and political stability of Pakistan, with particular mention of Japan as the main donor for various mega projects in Pakistan.

The Japanese Ambassador informed the Minister that a high level visit was being planned for later this year, appreciating the role of the Ministry in coming up with
Pakistan's first national security policy.

He also assured the Minister of all help in capacity building of the security forces of Pakistan in this regard.
