Police arrest 246 absconders during last 45 days

ISLAMABAD, February 19 (Online): Islamabad police have nabbed 246 absconders involved in crime of heinous nature during last 45 days in special
crackdown against outlaws, a police spokesman said.
Senior Police Officials assigned the task to all SDPOs and SHOs to ensure arrest of proclaimed offenders and inform them on daily basis about success during this crackdown. They also directed the concerned officers to launch massive crackdown against all the criminals involved in crime of heinous nature.
In compliance of these directions, all heads of police stations of Islamabad started their renewed efforts to arrest outlaws. A total of 246
absconders including 80 proclaimed and 166 court absconders were apprehended during this period.
According to details, City Zone arrested 17 proclaimed offenders, 58 court absconders while Saddar Zone apprehended 34 proclaimed offenders, 53 courts absconders.
Similarly, Industrial Area Zone nabbed 03 proclaimed offenders, 23 court absconders and Rural Zone nabbed 20 proclaimed offenders, 32 court absconders during this period.
Senior Police Officials also issued directions to make this campaign more effective as the performance of police stations in-charges would be further
reviewed soon in this regard. No one is above the law and arrest of those at large after their involvement in crime of heinous nature should be ensured for safety of the lives and property of the citizens, they directed.
They have also warned the police officials that sluggish attitude in this regard would not be tolerated.
