8 people murdered in Johar Town laid to rest in Gujranwala

Gujranwala, Feb 19 (Online): Funeral prayers of eight people belong to same family killed under mysterious circumstances in Johar Town area of Lahore, were offered on Wednesday in Gujranwala, native town of deceased persons.

Hundreds of people participated in the funeral prayers while emotional scenes were seen on the occasion.

The deceased were later laid to rest in their native graveyard in Gujranwala.

Initial postmortem report of the 7 out of 8 people, who were found dead at their house in Johar town last evening, has confirmed on Wednesday that all of them were sedated by ammonium powder before being brutally murdered by sledgehammer.

According to the autopsy report released here all of them died because of severe head injuries. The report also highlighted that they were first sedated through ammonium power before their murder.

Eight members of a family were found dead in mysterious circumstances in Lahore on Tuesday.

Women, children and three brothers are among the dead. The three brothers were identified as Shahid, Zahid and Nazeer, who was a cancer patient.

Police had claimed to crack the case, saying Nazeer killed all family members before committing suicide.

Postmortem of Nazeer has not yet been carried out.

Police investigators had also claimed he used ammonia gas, which now has been confirmed by the postmortem report.

Funeral prayers of the dead will be held later this afternoon in Gujranwala.
