Petition against JIT in Lal Masjid case dismissed being non maintainable

ISLAMABAD, Mar 18 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has dismissed petition filed by Shuhada Foundation (SF) against the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) constituted to probe into Lal Masjid incident declaring it non maintainable.

A single bench of IHC comprising Justice Noor ul Haq Qureshi took up the petition for hearing Tuesday.

Jahangir Jadoon appeared in the court on behalf of standing counsel and said FIR has been lodged in Lal Masjid incident and joint investigation team has also been formed which is performing its function in befitting manner. SSP Islamabad Police Khalid Khattak and SPCI Jamil Hashmi which are included in the team are doing their part of job. A meeting of the team has also been held in this regard. The allegations leveled by SF are absolutely wrong

Justice Noor ul Haq Qureshi remarked “ if they both are working then let them do their job.” Tariq Asad advocate could not appear in the court for pursuing the case.
