PPP, PTI stage protest demos against minor girl rape

ISLAMABAD/LAHORE, September 16 (Online): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Monday, staged protest demonstration against the rape of five-year-old in Lahore.

The activists of civil society members staged a protest in Jinnah Super Market of Islamabad against the rape of a minor girl.

PPP’s MNA Nafeesa Shah, Rubina Khalid led the protest outside National Press Club in Islamabad. Civil Society activists including Tahira Abdullah, Dr. Farzana Bari and others were also present on the occasion.

A large number of people including PPP workers were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against police and criminals.

Addressing on the occasion, representatives of various walks of life strongly condemned the tragic incident of a 5 year old girl rape in Lahore.

They demanded of the government to ensure the arrest of culprits at earliest and strict punishment for them.

Meanwhile, in Lahore, PTI leader Ibrar ul Haq led the demonstration out the Services Hospital.

He demanded that the government bring the culprits to book by carrying out speedy investigation.

Ibrar ul Haq stressed the need for reforming the criminal justice system in the country to avert such incidents in the future.

He said psychological problem of the minor girl is the main issue.
