QUETTA Mar 23 (PPI): Provincial Minister for Transport, Revenue and Excise and president PML Balochistan Shaikh Jaffar Mandokhel has said tragic traffic incident at Hub Saturday indicates that traveling along national highway s was not safe yet and road mishaps were taking place. There is dire need at government level for taking measures to prevent accidents.
He said this while expressing grief and sorrow over Gaddani incident that claimed over 40 lives while speaking form Saudi Arabia Sunday. He is there to perform Umrah.
Jaffar Mandokhel said a system like Motorway police should be enforced along Quetta-Zhob, Quetta-Karachi and Quetta-Sibi highways. We had stated this time and again during previous government that traffic incidents along highways were increasing and a strategy to prevent them is direly needed. He aid road accident along Quetta-Karachi highways where yesterday’s major accident took place is a tragedy. He said in his opinion immediate steps would have to be adopted for preventing accidents and safe journey along highways. He would take personal interest in this regard and take up the matter with the federal government to evolve a concrete course of action. He said to him these accidents are intolerable now. Loss of precious lives hurts deeply heart. He aid on his return the country he would call a meeting of Transport Department about prevention of accidents and it would also adopt a line of action in this regard.
