PTI Govt working on one point agenda to provide relief and justice to masses: CM

PESHAWAR, Sept 16 (APP): Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez
Khattak has said that the PTI led coalition government of the province is working on one point agenda of change with the aim to provide relief and justice to the people.
He expressed these views while talking to media persons at a press
conference held at Dera Ismail Khan on Monday, said that there had been a system of injustice and exploitation during the last six decades in the province as had been in the country.
He said that from the very first day of the inception of the present
provincial government, I have given clear cut instructions and necessary policy guidelines to all the quarters concerned to introduce reforms in their respective fields of work with a deadline to show cent percent result as per directives and policies of the government.
"Now the deadline is over and I want cent percent result and even 99
percent will not serve the purpose"; maintained the CM adding that negligence of duties or poor performance on the part of officers and officials will never ever be tolerated.
Khattak reiterated his resolve to make the province free of corruption
and a model province in term of good governance and transparency; and thereby gaining the trust of national and international investors so that maximum local and foreign investors could be attracted towards the province.
He said that the process of change had started in the province and
people would notice the change in the near future.
The Chief Minister urged upon the media to point out the weakness and
drawbacks of the government so that they could be rectified accordingly and to showcase the improvements at the same time with objectivity.
Referring to the recently enacted "Access to information" law, the chief
Minister said that the law will be a launching pad for ensuring complete transparency in the province as it enables every citizen to have an access to information of public interest.
Regarding the proposed local government system of the provincial
government, Khattak remarked that the new local government system would be a model system which devolved all the financial and administrative powers to the local bodies where by empowering the local people in the true sense.
Local people will have full powers in the affairs of their schools,
hospitals, police stations, patwar offices and other social delivery outlets, he added.
He said that fifty percent of the developmental funds of the provincial
government will be given to local governments so that instead of MPAs and Ministers the local people could themselves decide and prioritize their developmental needs.
To a question, he replied that the heirs of the Dera Ismail Khan jail
incident's victims would be provided financial aid as per policy of the provincial government.
The chief minister said that it was the duty of the district
administration to control prices and to ensure the availability of quality edibles in the market and departmental proceedings would be initiated against those who do not perform their duties well in this regard.
Touching upon the issues of power suspension in the province the chief
minister said that the issue directly came under the jurisdiction of the federal government but the provincial government had taken strong exception of the unscheduled and announced power suspension in the province.
