Hajj expenses reduction widely hailed

ISLAMABAD, Apr 10 (APP):The people belonging to all walks of life
Thursday hailed the reduction in Hajj expenses by terming it a people
friendly initiative of the government of Pakistan Muslim League
Nawaz.
Talking to APP Hafiz Sabir, an intending pilgrim said, the reduction
of upto Rs 22,000 in Hajj expenses was a positive step which is set to
provide a significant relief to mediocre peoples.
Responding to a question he said the government should hold negotiations with Saudi government for revival of 20 percent quota cut imposed last year due to expansion of Harram Sharif.
He also appreciated the decision of terminating of free
Hajj.
According to policy a total of 143,368 would perform the ceremony this
year. The Hajj applications would be received by designated banks from April 21.
The Hajj package under the Government Hajj Scheme from south region
(Karachi, Quetta and Sukkar) will be Rs 262,231 and north region (Peshawar,
Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Faisalabad and Sialkot) will be
Rs 272,231 as compared to Rs. 285,070 (south) and Rs. 295,070 (north) of
white category of last year.
Chairman Rafeeq e Hujjaj committee Babu Imran Qureshi while talking to APP also appreciated the decision of reduction in Hajj expenses.
