Operation to eliminate Opium crops continued 3rd day

KILLA ABDULLAH May 5 (PPI): Operation to eliminate Opium crop in various parts of Gulistan (District Killa Abdullah) continued third consecutive day Monday. Opium crop over an area of 250 acres was completely destroyed. Tractors were also used along with officials. ANF helicopter monitored the operation and area and officials remained alert to meet any situation.
Local Journalists of Killa Abdullah and Mazai Addah were given a visit of the area where operation against Opium was underway. They were also briefed.
Assistant commissioner Killa Abdullah, Major Toseef of ANF and Major Akthar of FC were also present on the occasion.
Journalists were given round of Segi, Abdul Rehmanzai, and Killi Shamshozai where officials were busy in destroying Opium crop. Levies, ANF, and FC personnel in dozens were busy in destroying opium crop. Tractors were also used in the operation.
Earlier yesterday pamphlets were also dropped form helicopters to inform people and top them form cultivating Opium and they were told of losses to be caused from it.
AC told that operation was being carried out indiscriminately and no leniency would be made to any one. It is a dangerous act and action against it is our duty. People should cooperate with institutions.
