ISLAMABAD, May 8 (Online): Supreme Court (SC) has sought reply from Election Commission (EC) within 15 days on the petitions filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI ) chairman writ seeking verification of thumb impressions in 4 constituencies.

A 3-member bench of SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani took up petitions for hearing Thursday.

Hamid Khan Counsel for PTI contended that he had filed two petitions. EC has not implemented court’s order and blew it in the air.

CJP remarked “ your both petitions will be heard jointly. Let reply of EC come then the matter will be reviewed.

The hearing of the case was adjourned for 15 days.

Imran Khan while talking to media men after hearing of the case said “ I demand for verification of thumb impressions in 4 constituencies so that lapses come to the light. Wherever my representatives paid fee personally and got the thumb impressions verified, a majority of votes were found unverified”.

Imran said he still stands by his statement about returning officers.
