JAFFARABAD May 31 (PPI): Murder mystery of nationalist leader and noted zamindar Abdul Khaliq Mengal was resolved. Main accused arrested.
District Police Office Jaffarabad Syed Ashfaq Anwar Shah told Journalists at a crowded press conference that on the night of May 13electricition Muhammad Tahir gave intoxicant in the tea to Khaliq Mengal. When he fell unconscious Tahir removed air conditioner from his house. While leaving the House he sprinkled petrol on Abdul Khaliq and set him on fire who died later.
DPO said information found form mobile phone led to arrest of Muhammad Tahir who confessed his crime.
Accused Tahir while leveling charges of black mailing by Khaliq Mengal said that he was black mailing him for the last 7/8 years. On the night of incident he called him at his house and committed sexual assault with him.
DOI said allegations accused Tahir are false. He committed the crime to steal air conditioner only. A cash of R upees4.25 lakh were recovered from the site.
