Karachi, September 18 (Online): Faisal Sabzwari, opposition leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Sindh Assembly Wednesday welcomed release of Nadeem Hashmi, ex-MPA of MQM.
Talking to media persons outside Sindh Assembly, Sabzwari warned that security forces must be careful next time when they arrest any MQM leader saying that unlawful arrests damage credibility of party and its leaders.
He said it is now proved that arrest of Nadeem Hashmi was a wrong step of forces and was based on groundless facts.
Sabzwari said MQM possesses 85 percent mandate of Karachi and no one could desire for restoration peace in the city more than MQM.
He said extra-ordinary steps must be taken to restore peace in Karachi but these steps must be remained within limits of law and constitution.
MQM leader and former MPA Nadeem Hashmi was released from police custody on Tuesday.
The investigation team for the case found the MQM leader to be not guilty in the killing of two policemen.
Hashmi had been arrested from his residence for alleged involvement in the double murder. He was booked and arrested under terrorism and murder charges.
Last week, Hashmi was brought to the court for remand in an armoured personnel carrier escorted by five police vans.
