QUETTA: The supplementary polio immunization campaign was carried out in 11 districts of Balochistan. The campaign was launched in Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Zhob, Shirani, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Awaran, Washuk and different other districts of the province on Monday last.
According to the Provincial Health Department sources, there is a target to administer anti-Police vaccine to over 1.4 million children in these districts.
According to the sources, the immunization campaign in Quetta district would be launched from Monday next.
Naseerabad division:
The polio immunization campaign was successfully launched in Naseerabad division. Different committees headed by the deputy commissioners and district health officers are supervising the campaign in their respective districts.
Mobile teams have been formed to vaccinate the children against the polio disease all over the division. Moreover, arrangements were also made for the immunization at the transit points and important passages in the districts.
The DHOs of the districts have appealed to the general public to fully cooperate with the anti-Polio teams visiting home to home as vaccination is the only mean to prevent the crippling disease.
