Transporters concerned about condition of highways

QUETTA: Balochistan Bus Federation (BBF) has demanded of the government to pay due attention towards the issues of transporters in the province.
A press release issued here referred to a meeting of the Federation that was held under the president-ship of Saeed Jan Lehri here the other day.
The participants particularly diverted the attention of provincial high ups towards the dilapidated condition of different highways in the province.
They said that the transporters are suffering a lot due to the poor condition of the roads. The situation is causing financial losses to them, it was noted with concern.
The road condition is also the major cause of fatal road accidents in the province, it was maintained.
So, an immediate attention should be paid towards the matter, the participating transporters demanded. They also demanded deployment of the motorway police on highways in the province. Moreover, the ambulance service should also be started on different points on the main highways so that it can operate in case of fatal road accidents providing necessary medical assistance to the victims in future, it was also demanded.
