Govt. committed to protect rights of disabled persons

QUETTA: The present government is committed to protect rights of the persons living with disabilities in the province.
All necessary steps would be taken together with the private sector in this regard, assured the Member of Provincial Assembly, Ms. Yasmeen Lehri while speaking on occasion of the ceremony of distribution of wheel chairs among the disabled persons arranged by the Sangat Welfare Society in Dhadhar area the other day.
She on the occasion said that a bill regarding protection of rights of the disabled persons would also be tabled in the provincial assembly for approval.
She said that serving ailing humanity is a noble mission. She also said that the disabled persons are our special people so they deserve special attention as well.
It is an unfortunate that they (special persons) have not been given due attention and importance in the society. This trend must be done away with now, she stressed.
We need to encourage them and use their hidden talent so that they are also able to play their role in development of the province like others, she maintained.
She also expressed her dissatisfaction over the 20 percent job quota allocated for the disabled persons. She assured that she would take up the issue with the concerned high ups for increasing the quota for them.
Referring the general issues being faced by the people, Ms. Yasmeen Lehri said that we are aware of the issues including those of water shortage and other civil facilities, and as such we are endeavoring to provide the same to the common men. However, it would take a little time to do so, she maintained.
