Tribal elders’ position vital in maintaining law & order, says Mandokhail

QUETTA: The Provincial Minister for Revenue, Excise and Taxation, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has stressed that maintaining law and order is collective responsibility, and as such the tribal elders would also have to play their effective role in this regard.
Talking to the local media here, Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail referred to the incident of kidnapping of passengers by the armed persons on the Kila Saifullah-Zhob highway and strongly condemned it terming it a malicious act.
He said that such incidents are challenge for us, and as such we have to take effective steps to counter them.
The Minister, who also happens to be the Provincial President of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q), also stressed that the miscreants and law breakers would be taken to task.
He said that the tribal elders as well as other elites are also required to play their wholehearted role in addition to the public representatives, moving forward to maintain law and order in their respective areas of the province.
Such incidents should be stopped with full force, he stressed as he said that no one would be save from them, he added.
He also said that it is also responsibility of the community to contribute in the initiatives of the government in ensuring peace.
The people of the areas should identify the elements involved in the heinous crimes in their respective areas so as to eliminate them, he stressed further.
The Minister also mentioned that he has taken up the issue of kidnapping with the concerned authorities. He has demanded stern action against the kidnappers besides early recovery of those kidnapped.
