WASA’s drive continues against illegal water connections

QUETTA: The Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) is continuing crackdown against the unauthorized water connection holders in the metropolis.
During the campaign, over 80 illegal connections were disconnected in different areas including Patel road, Multani Muhalla, Kaikabad road and adjacent areas.
The illegal water connections were affecting the regular water supply in these areas. According to the Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) Gawalmandi, Ali Akbar, the crackdown would remain continued against the illegal water connections in the Sub-Division.
He said that no one would be spared in the campaign, rather it would be intensified further.
He also warned that the action would be continued against the illegal water connection holders without any discrimination.
Meanwhile, the WASA has paid the arrears of over 80 million to the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO).
After payment of the dues by WASA, QESCO restored power supply of the WASA tube wells, which otherwise was suspended on non-payment.
The water supply was severely affected in different areas due to suspension of power supply.
