Awareness seminar on polio: Govt. committed to polio eradication in Balochistan

QUETTA: The government is committed to polio eradication from the province and so it would be done in Pishin district.
This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner Pishin, Bashir Khan Bazai while addressing an awareness seminar on polio at Pishin Press Club.
The leaders of different political parties attended the seminar.
The senior Vice president of Awami National Party (ANP) Balochistan, Asghar Ali Tareen presided over the seminar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that every individual has to play one’s role in eradication of polio and thus saving the future generation from the crippling disease.
He stressed that the people from all shades of life should cooperate with the government and district administration in their anti-polio initiatives.
The polio eradication is possible only through the collective and collaborative efforts, he stressed further.
Addressing the seminar, Asghar Tareen, PkMAP’s leader Muhammad Essa Roshan, JUI’s district Ameer, Maulvi Habibullah Agha, leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PYI), Hazrat Ali Khan Kibzai, Peoples’ Party leader, Abdul Samad Agha, Councilor Abdul Bari Durrani as well as the WHO’s representative Dr. Abdullah, and others also spoke at length about polio immunization in order to rid of the virus.
They said that practical efforts are needed instead of mere lip service to tackle the issue of polio in the province.
It is a matter of future of our young generation, so we all should contribute in the anti-polio campaign, they stressed.
They also said that those who are opposing the polio immunization campaign are not well wisher of the people.
