Govt. launches website to put Education Dept. on modern lines

QUETTA: The Chief Secretary, Saifullah Chattha has said that imparting quality education to the students is top priority of the provincial government as by doing so, they would be able to excel in future.
He was chairing a meeting on education here the other day. The meeting was attended by Secretary Secondary Education department, Abdul Saboor Kakar, Secretary Finance, Mushtaq Ahmed Rasiani, Director Education (Schools) Gulab Khan Mandokhail and other concerned high ups.
The Chief Secretary on the occasion mentioned that the government is taking steps for bringing improvement in education system.
It has also launched a website in collaboration with UNICEF in order to put education department on modern lines in the province, he said adding he termed the initiative as a revolutionary.
Mr. Chattha on the occasion referring to cheating in examinations termed it a menace. He stressed that effective measures are needed to purge the menace.
He said that installation of cameras in the examination halls would help stop the tendency of cheating from examinations.
He directed to the Education department high ups to post the honest and sincere teachers for conducting examinations and not to make any compromise over cheating.
Earlier, the Secretary Secondary Education briefed Chief Secretary about Education Management Information System (EMIS).
He told that with this system, the full record of schools, staff and teachers would be available. It would also help identify the absentee teachers and ghost schools, he maintained.
The Chief Secretary appreciated the EMIS and said that absenteeism of teachers would not be tolerated at all. Moreover, negligence would also not be tolerated, adding he warned.
