Supplementary anti-polio campaign continues

QUETTA: The supplementary polio immunization campaign remained continued in Quetta district on Friday.
Special arrangements have been made for the campaign in Quetta. The police personnel are escorting the anti-Polio workers during the campaign.
It may be mentioned here that there is a target to administer anti-Polio dose to around 450,000 children below five years of age.
The mobile teams were formed to immunize children visiting door to door. Moreover, arrangements were also made for the purpose at different health establishments including Basic Health Units and Rural Health Centers set up at various places.
Similarly, the polio drops would also be administered at different transit points to achieve the 100 percent target of immunization.
It may be mentioned here that five cases of polio had been reported from Quetta district during last year 2014. However, luckily no new case has so far been reported from the district.
