Elimination of cheating in exams: Complaint cells to be established at various levels

QUETTA: The Education department has decided to establish complaint cells at the provincial, divisional and district level in order to eliminate cheating from the forthcoming examinations of Matriculation.
This was announced by the Secretary Secondary Education department, Abdul Saboor Khan Kakar while addressing a meeting held to review the reforms in the examinations here the other day.
The Chairman Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Quetta, Professor Saadullah Khan Tokhai, Chief Planning Officer of PPIU, Syed Kamaluddin besides other concerned high ups attended the meeting.
The Secretary Secondary Education maintained that two complaint cells would be set up at the provincial level. One of them would be set up at the BISE and the other would be established at the PPIU situated at the Balochistan Civil Secretariat, he added.
The complaint cells to be established at the division and district level would be supervised by the respective Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners.
The students and parents would be able to register complaints regarding cheating in the examinations.
The Secretary also informed that monitoring and inspection teams would be formed all over the province to assess performance of the supervisory staff and to overcome cheating in the examinations.
The officers from the district administration would also be part of the monitoring and inspection teams so as to make the system more effective.
Abdul Saboor Kakar stressed that strict implementation on the section 144 would be made during the examinations, which was not done in the past.
The local administration has been put on high alert all over the province on directives of the Chief Secretary Balochistan, the Secretary maintained.
He asserted that those violating the directives would be dealt with sternly, and would not be spared at all.
