QUETTA: The Prisons department Balochistan has decided to beef up further the security of all prisons in the province.
The sources of the Prisons department told that the summary of a project worth of Rs. 100 million for purchase of security equipments has been furnished to the provincial government for approval and sanction of the necessary funds.
The funds would be spent on purchase and installation of the close circuit television (CCTV) cameras, mobile phone jammers and scanners for the jails.
The same equipments would be installed in jails all over the province and the reputed companies dealing in the business would be engaged in the process, the sources mentioned.
Needless to mention here is that there are in all 11 jails in the province including Quetta, and the security arrangements are part of the security measures being taken owing to the overall security threats.
