Industry-academia linkages key to make Pakistan top ranked economy-ICCI

ISLAMABAD, Sep 19 (Online): President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Zafar Bakhtawri has said that in order to make Pakistan top ranked economies of the world there is dire need to promote academia-industry linkages.
President ICCI stated this during interaction with the students of NICON Group of Colleges who visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry to interact with businessmen and learn entrepreneurship tips to adopt business profession as a career.
Addressing the students, Zafar Bakhtawari, said that most of the developed nations have achieved economic progress and it is dire need by following the same approach.
He gave many tips to the students on how to start new business ventures and become successful entrepreneurs. He said hard work, honesty, dedication and commitment are the golden principles compliance of which ensures success in every profession including entrepreneurship.
He lauded the initiative of NICON Group of Colleges for providing students an opportunity to interact with businessmen and learn from their experience to improve their career prospects and emerge as future business leaders. He hoped that such interactions would enhance the basic personal, communication, leadership and sales skills of young entrepreneurs which would be beneficial for them to kick start their own businesses for industrial and economic development.
Majid Shabbir, Secretary General, Islamabad Chamber of commerce and Industry gave a detailed presentation on the working of Chamber and what role it plays for promoting the interests of business community.
Mir Wajid Ali, Regional Director and students of NICON Group of Colleges shared their proposals for producing knowledge human capital for business and industry. They said academia-industry interactions would enhance the entrepreneurship developmental skills and would build the capacity of students to encourage them towards business ventures.
