TTP chief contacts negotiator, demands release of 50 prisoners

KARACHI, September 19 (Online): Chief Tehreek-e-Taliban Hakimullah Mehsood has made a formal contact with former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Javed Ibraheem Paracha in response to government talk’s offer on Thursday, media reported.

Javed Ibraheem Paracha, a former MNA from Kohat, confirmed that Mehsud had telephoned him and gave a list of 50 prisoners, demanding their release.

He said that the prisoners were associated with the TTP and sectarian outfits Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ).

According to media reports, Paracha had visited Rawalpindi Adiyala Jail to meet the Taliban prisoners.

It is significant to mention here that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan along with an officer of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) had also met Javed Ibraheem Paracha.
